How We Met:
They first met on line through Match.com. Nick first noticed
Amanda and decided to take a chance on contacting her. After
sometime talking and getting to know each other, she graciously
accepted to go on a first date with him.
Nick took Amanda to the Long Valley Brew Pub for their first
date, where Amanda decided it was a good idea to order Ostrich
for the first time…for all those wondering…it was pretty good.
The first date surprisingly led to another… then another…and
next thing you know they are getting married almost 5 years
later.
Last year they moved to Charlotte, NC for Amanda’s job and have
begun another chapter in their lives together.
About Amanda:
Amanda was born and raised in East Stroudsburg, Pa by Ronald and
Margie Decker. Amanda has a younger brother who lives in
Fairfax, VA with his wife Cherlyn and their 6 month old daughter
Naomi. Over the last 8 years, Amanda’s career paths have taken
her from customer service at Shawnee Mountain Ski to the retail
industry. She worked in the northern New Jersey area until her
latest move to Charlotte, NC where she works as a retail
merchandise allocator for Belk department stores. Amanda enjoys
golf, skiing and hiking. She is also currently attending
Strayer University to finish her Business Management Degree with
concentrations in Retail and Supply Chain Management.
About Nick:
Nick was born in upstate New York, but moved shortly after and
was raised by his mom, Eileen Kelly, in Mineola, NY. In 1992 he
moved to Pennsylvania with his mom and graduated from East
Stroudsburg High School the following year. From there he began
his 4 year journey in the U.S Navy and was stationed in San
Diego, CA onboard the USS La Jolla. After the military, Nick had
a few brief stops at college and NJ before moving back to PA. He
currently lives in Charlotte, NC with Amanda and works for a
company that manufactures automatic entrances as a Materials
Buyer. Nick has returned to school and is currently attending
Strayer University for a degree in Acquisition and Contract
